Short Course: 1-Hour Hoi An Lantern Making Class 

You’ll start with a pre-made lantern frame.

  • Step 1: Choose your favorite lantern shape among our exhibited lanterns (sunrise, sunset, diamond, full happiness). Our lantern lady will get you the bamboo frame accordingly. 
  • Step 2: Choose your favorite fabric among our provided fabric collection. 
  • Step 3: Apply glue on each stick of frame, then carefully stretch and glue your selected fabric onto the frame, smoothing every panel. 
  • Step 4: Once the glue is dried, trim every edge of your lantern. Choose a tassel and attach it to your lantern. 
  • Step 5: Demonstration on how to open and fold your lantern, also pack it in your luggage. 

Long Course: 2-Hour Hoi An Lantern Making Experience

You start everything from scratch, which means you will make a lantern frame before adding on your fabric. 

    • Step 1: Choose your favorite lantern shape ((sunrise, sunset, diamond, full happiness) and fabric. 
    • Step 2: Connect the bamboo sticks together to form a bamboo lantern frame. 
  • Step 3: Apply glue on each stick of frame, then carefully stretch and glue your selected fabric onto the frame, smoothing every panel. 
  • Step 4: Once the glue is dried, trim every edge of your lantern. Choose a tassel and attach it to your lantern. 
  • Step 5: Demonstration on how to open and fold your lantern, also pack it in your luggage.
